ECSA Slovakia or in Slovak – SAEŠ was established on June 29, 1999 and thus is one of the oldest continuously active civil association supporting European education and integration in Slovakia. Originally, the association was established as Comenius University body, however nowadays it works as an independent subject fulfilling its goals through the cooperation with multiple scientific and education institutions and organizations. Ever since its establishment, it has been subscribed as a member of the European Community Studies Association (ECSA World) connecting 60 equally named national organizations and thousands of professionals, researches and thinkers in Europe and partnered countries.
ECSA Slovakia has a long-lasting active cooperation with the General Directorate for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission (DG EAC) and interoperates with Jean Monnet programs set up within Erasmus+ structures. In cooperation with EC, it annually organizes an international – Jean Monnet Conference which tackles the actual global issues of the European integration. Honorary President, Assoc. Prof. Vlasta Kunová was a Vice-President of ECSA world in 2010 – 2013. Pilot project – Jean Monnet Chair implemented at Comenius University in Bratislava in cooperation with ECSA Slovakia was enlisted as one of the 20 best projects by the European Commission.
